Lodi Rules For Sustainable Winegrowing

Much more than cover crops and owl boxes...

What is sustainability? To put it simply, Sustainability is the practice of striving to leave our land better than we found it for the benefit of future generations. Round Valley Ranches is committed to this philosophy so much so that in 2009 we made the voluntary effort to undergo the rigorous certification process of the Lodi Rules for Sustainable Wine Growing. Today, nearly all of the vineyards we manage are certified in this world class sustainability program. What does that mean? It means that each year our viticultural practices are audited by a 3rd party to ensure that we are using water wisely, treating our employees fairly, encouraging biodiversity within our vineyards, using pesticides responsibly and protecting our soils from erosion.

Round Valley Ranches feels that to ensure long term profitability, sustainable farming methods must be a cornerstone of our operation.
